Castle air Museum, Atwater
This outdoor museum is a military veteran’s
dream and a child’s wonderland. The plane
museum, located on the site of a former U.S. air
Force base, boasts upwards of sixty aircrafts,
with more added each year. Set your own pace
and stop to read each educational sign located
along the cement path—be sure to bring a hat
and sunscreen if you plan on visiting during
the heat of summer. When it gets too warm
outside, you can climb into the cockpit of a B-52
bomber or stroll through the indoor museum
that displays pilot uniforms from decades past.
